Wayde Carroll is an award winning freelance image maker based in Anchorage, Alaska where he lives with his wife and two children.
He specializes in on-location commercial, corporate, and editorial assignments, high-end architectural interiors and exteriors, and lifestyle/ travel stock photography.
For the last ten years he has also enjoyed leading photography tours and workshops in Alaska and around the globe. His easy going style, dedication to his client's needs, patience, and attention to detail have garnered satisfied clients that travel with him repeatedly.
After receiving a B.A. in Art with an emphasis in photography from San Jose State University in 1993, Wayde fled to Alaska to hone his photographic skills. He spent a year documenting the lives of the Yup’ik people in the bush village of Eek, then two years assisting some of Anchorage’s top photographers. He quit his “real job” and started working full-time as a photographer in 2006.
He is the Program Chair for the American Society of Media Photographers/ Alaska Chapter. His stock images are represented by several agencies and his images are regularly published in numerous regional and national magazines, books, calendars, websites, newspapers, and annual reports. Reuters, National Geographic Maps, Alaska Magazine, First Alaskans Magazine, New Mexico Magazine, VIA, Sonoma Magazine, California Tour and Travel, Sierra Heritage, Anchorage Daily News, The Sacramento Bee, The Milepost, BP, and Providence Hospital are some clients you may be familiar with.
